IEEE Senior Membership Elevation Info Session-Q/A & Call for References

Summary:

Senior Membership is a prestigious distinction of professional maturity and achievement and the highest grade a member can apply for (using this workshop or by yourself).

If you are not yet a Senior Member (SM), in this introductory session, you can learn or refresh about the IEEE Senior Membership requirements (i.e. what it means to have at least 10 years of professional experience and how BSc-MSc-PhD is counted for 3-4-5 years, respectively; and at least 5 years of significant performance) and how to address them the best way and proceed with the application. As a part of the process, the session also offers tips and assistance with making your CV stand out.

After this session, we are considering having a separate session (some weeks later) to provide assistance with individual SM applications.

If you are already a Senior Member or Fellow of IEEE, we invite you to volunteer as a Reference for applications by your colleagues and others – please let us know.

If you are an officer in a Section or subSection, you can learn how increasing Senior membership can help making the Section more sustainable and active.

In addition, the session gives a brief introduction into what IEEE can do for you.
