As you may know, every engineer in South Africa whom
* Performs consulting engineering work,
* Takes responsibility for the performance of engineering work,
* Performs functions as laid down in certain statutes (e.g. the National building Regulations), or
* Wishes to become a full member of some recognised institutes,
must, by virtue of a statutory requirement, be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and upon such registration is able to use the appropriate title, e.g. "Professional Engineer" (Pr.Eng.).
You are cordially invited to attend the information session “Road to Registration” about ECSA and how to register with ECSA, to be held at the CSIR Knowledge Commons building (#50) on Wed April 12, 2017 at 14:00. In addition, a brief overview of the link between ECSA and one of its voluntary associations, namely IEEE in South Africa, and related membership discounts, will also be provided.
The duration of the presentation is usually from one to two hours depending on the Q&A session that follows the presentation.
The talk on ECSA will be given by Mr. Jones Moloisane, Pr.Tech.Eng, M.Inst.D (MSc(Civil); MTech(Civil) (cum laude), a previous Council member at ECSA, and complimented by a short brief on IEEE by Dr Lysko, Chair: IEEE South Africa Section.
